The McMinn County Amateur Radio Club, Inc. serves
the
McMinn County area.
The club maintains a club station at the
Athens EOC with club call KG4FZR.
Additional non-club stations are located at
the McMinn County 911 Center, Athens Regional Hospital and Woods
Memorial Hospital.
We also support the Rogers
Creek School Amateur Radio Station!
Regular monthly MCARC meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at the Athens City Hall at 7:00 PM. All are welcome!

simplex.

(-) 141.3 tone is on the air at our new Athens site. It is linked to
443.275 (+) 100.0 (No Pone). (This will be our Skywarn frequency.) The 145.310 is getting some paging intermod, and we plan to try to cure it soon. The 145.150 (-) 141.3 is on the air at KI4IQA's home, and offers some limited coverage in McMinn Co, but works well in Athens. We are still in negotiations for other sites for the 145.150 (-) 141.3 and 442.275 (+) 141.3. |
Some HF frequencies we frequent are (nightly) 1.939 (7-8ET PM) & 28.587 (8-9ET PM) and (mornings) 3.980.
The MCARC club station also operates as "KG4FZR-7"
on APRS with digipeater!
Look for our call and the "EOC" symbol in East
Tennessee.

THE KG4FZR-7 DIGI is a
WIDEn-N/TNn-N
digi & is a limited two-way IGATE.
IT ALSO GATES LOCAL SEVERE WEATHER RELATED DATA TO THE RF SIDE OF APRS.
WE HAVE AN APRS SECTION ON OUR WEBSITE IF YOU NEED SETUP HELP.
MCARC is also active on packet frequency 145.550.
The club shack operates
24/7 as KG4FZR-10 WL2K RMS packet Server, MCARC digi, and KG4FZR-7 Node.
145.550 serves as the TN Homeland Security District 3 packet frequency.
The club members are active in ARES, RACES, Skywarn,
MARS and
participates
when requested in civic duties,
such as JOTA for the Boy Scouts,
the Athens Christmas
Parade, Watts Bar Nuclear Plant drills,
as well as other activities.
Regular Phone nets are held
each
and every Monday evening at 8:30 PM on the 145.310 (-) 141.3 tone
repeater,
and the 443.275 (+) 100.0 net
follows the
close of the 2 meter net.
