McMinn County Amateur Radio Club, Inc.
The McMinn County Amateur Radio Club, Inc. serves the McMinn County area.
The club maintains a club station at the Athens EOC with club call KG4FZR.
Additional non-club stations are located at
the McMinn County 911 Center, Athens Regional Hospital and Woods Memorial Hospital.
Regular monthly MCARC meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at the Athens City Hall at 7:00 PM. All are welcome!

The MCARC would like to thank Volunteer Electric Cooperation and
Athens Utilities Board for giving us space on their towers!
Some HF frequencies we frequent are (nightly) 1.910 (7-8ET PM) & 28.587 (8-9ET PM) and (mornings) 3.980.
The MCARC club station also operates as "KG4FZR-7" on APRS with digipeater!

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OUR DIGI!
THE KG4FZR-7 DIGI is a WIDEn-N/TNn-N digi & is a limited two-way IGATE.
IT ALSO GATES LOCAL SEVERE WEATHER RELATED DATA TO THE RF SIDE OF APRS.
WE HAVE AN APRS SECTION ON OUR WEBSITE IF YOU NEED SETUP HELP.
MCARC is also active on packet frequency 145.550.
The club shack operates 24/7 as KG4FZR-10 WL2K RMS packet Server, MCARC digi, and KG4FZR-7 Node.
145.550 serves as the TN Homeland Security District 3 packet frequency.
The club members are active in ARES, RACES, Skywarn, MARS and participates when requested in civic duties, such as JOTA for the Boy Scouts,
the Athens Christmas Parade, Watts Bar Nuclear Plant drills, as well as other activities.
MCARC Net Control Op. Schedule
With the exception of the 2nd Monday evening of the month.
Regular Phone nets are held on Monday evenings.
The 70CM phone net is held at 8:30PM on the 441.800 (+) 141.3 tone Starr Mnt. Repeater.
The regular 2M phone net is held at 8:45PM on the 147.060 linked with 145.150.
Both have the same tone and offset. (-) 141.3 tone.
After the net, a topic of discussion and rag chew is incouraged, so hang around.
Also there is a local 2 meter simplex net on Tuesday nights at 8:30pm on 146.490 mhz.
Our friends in Meigs County are now conducting a phone net on
Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm on the 145.150 machine
70cm REPEATER TESTING will be conducted on the Second Thursday of each month at 8:30 PM. Three repeaters will be tested, beginning with 441.800 Starr Mountain, then 442.275 Athens, and finally 443.275 No Pone.
