Robert
"Rob" Lane Shearman, K4CVA, SK
Robert (K4CVA) "Rob" Lane Shearman, 87, of Ten Mile, went to be with
the Lord on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at his residence.
He was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army
veteran, serving in World War II. He was an avid ham radio operator,
talking to people all over the world. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Henry Neal and Amanda Walker Shearman; his beloved wife, Sue
Harrison Shearman; one sister, Lawrence; and five brothers, Tom, Gene,
Fenimore, Glen and Donald Shearman.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Donald Layman
of Decatur; two grandchildren, Molly Elderkin and Robb Cagle, both of
Goodlettsville; and a host of brothers and sisters in the church and
friends.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Edgemon Cemetery with
Brother Jim Bowers officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mark Irwin, Clifford Carter, Darrell Walden, Jerry
Walden, Andy Edgemon, Chris Walden, Greg Buckner and Mike Bredwell.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home.
