Glenna Rose Burke Black (WB4BTC), 86, of Athens, passed away
Saturday evening, April 12, 2014, at a local health care facility.
A daughter of the late Elmer and Nora Knox Burke, she was a native
and lifelong resident of McMinn County and attended First Baptist
Church of Etowah. She and her husband owned and operated Spurlock
Fire Alarms for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Black, who passed
away in July 2013; and sister, Hazel Clark.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Burke and wife, Dodie, of
Riceville; granddaughter, Robin Garrett and husband, Tony, of
Madisonville; great-grandson, Blake Garrett, of Madisonville;
daughter-in-law, Helen Black of Athens; and sister-in-law, Carolyn
Morgan and husband, Emmett, of Athens. Two nieces, one nephew and
other extended family members and friends also survive.
The family will hold private services at a later date.
